About GRFFN

Growing Real Food for Nutrition (GRFFN) is a food quality database developer and food quality researcher and educator. 

We are a non-profit organisation creating a network and community of growers; sharing ecological wisdom, leading citizen science, delivering taste testing workshops, providing accessible education and providing consultancy on food quality and ecological growing projects. 

GRFFN is radically improving food quality through an ecological approach, that places human in nature and not alongside it; the change people and the earth need to heal. 

VISION: to see an abundance of nutrient rich food, grown in harmony with nature, made available to everyone on the planet.

MISSION: GRFFN leads citizen science research and provides education, support and advocacy o answer the question “what is food quality in relation to ecosystem health?”. Our projects with growers and local communities are building a demand for food that nurtures the whole ecosystem- with human health included, not separated from it. Our growing database of crop quality measurements will create a food quality standard to achieve our vision.

Understand why food quality and a revolution is so necessary. 

The current industrialised agriculture and food system is yield focussed and not nutrient or quality focussed. Because of this we are eating poor quality food with fewer nutrients than generations before us, and our ecosystems are being destroyed in the process.
